Another GREAT addition to Storm2k.org!!

#1 Postby chadtm80 » Tue Jul 20, 2004 9:19 am

Well everyone storm2k.org has added another GREAT feature for its members.. :-) We have added weather "stickers" for the members for your personal location.. These images can be used on an html page, or in your signature line!

Below is an example of the URL with the image tags you will need to use to call your image to put in your signature.

Code: Select all

[img]http://www.storm2k.org/ham/hw3.php?forecast=metar&config=png&alt=storm2k&pands=32725[/img]

:darrow: The code above will result in the image appearing as so below

Image

To get your personal image you will need to take the zip code out of the URL and insert yours. Simply replace the 32725 with your zip code, and place that EXACT url in your Sig line with the image tags..

Now to get your personal image to link to your personal Forecast page here at storm2k its a lil more tricky but the directions are below

Use this code and your image will be in your sig and a member can click on it and it will take them right to your full forecast page (example is for my area)

Code: Select all

[url=http://www.storm2k.org/ham/hw3.php?config=&forecast=zandh&pands=32725][img]http://www.storm2k.org/ham/hw3.php?forecast=metar&config=png&alt=storm2k&pands=32725[/img][/url]

The code above will result in the image below that is Clickable :darrow:
Image

A lil further explantion on the clickable image code..j In first part of the code between the [url= and the ] you want to paste the link to your forecast, and to get that link just go here and put in your zip code and it will take you to your forecast page.... Just copy the link and past it.. Then between the [img] and [/img] tags in the code put the link to your image like explained at the very top.. And your set..

I have NO problem adding the images for any member that may have problems doing it them selves.. Just let me know :D

These Images are NOT as crisp and as clear as they will be.. We just need to do a little more tweaking to make them perfect.. This should happen with in the next couple of days... You will not need to anything to improve them.. When we change the settings yours will auto update :-)

One last and very Important thing I want to point out is that this Feature was made possible by All of you who have supported us by donating to the site!! We realy appreciate the help and with your continued support we can continue to bring bigger and better things to storm2k!! If interested in donating please go to our home page at http://www.storm2k.org and click on the donate button on the left side of the page.. Or you can contact me via aim for info on donating via Snail Mail!

Thanks, Enjoy, And let us know what you think :-)
