It is not know if it was technical or United states bombs that knocked it off.

The iraqi information ministry said it was technical but National geographic explorer reporter Peter arnet said it went out after heavy United States bombing in Baghdad and it's outskirts..!!!!

I say that Al Jazeera, Abu Dhabi and Iraq State Coimmunications all should be given "permanent" technical problems...the kind it takes years to fix, and SOON! :x

And while we're on the subject, someone needs to put a muzzle on Wolf Blitzer of CNN; his shameless "interviews" and the questions he asked this last weekend sounded as if HE was on Saddam's payroll. :grrr:

There must be a valid reason for leaving Iraqi TV operational, or we would have taken it out from the start.

the reports are that iraqi tv is located in a building with a daycare center. the shock wave from nearby blasts may have caused it to go out temporarily, but i dont think we targeted iraqi tv

Reports are on now that the "E-bomb" was used to take it off the air.

If this was an e-bomb then it would be the first time it's ever been tried in a real combat situation. There's always the possibility the the broadcast is originating from an alternate site. Either way I agree Jacki. Let's finish it off!

If It Had Really Been

#18 Postby Aslkahuna » Tue Mar 25, 2003 8:05 pm

an "E-Bomb" (which could be as much a propaganda ploy on our part as a real weapon) it would have knocked out everything of an electromagnetic nature within its combat radius including Peter Arnett's cell phones and video equipment and the other TV setups there.

I'll preface this by saying that I support our troops, and this war, wholeheartedly.

That said, there is one thing more than any other, that bothers me about the coverage and viewpoints about the iraqi army fighting "unfair" by their ambushing tactics, guerilla tactics etc.. I think that (we) were the ones that used those same tactics to gain our Independence from England.

Steve, from what I've been reading on the E-bomb is that it has a very limited range and questionable effectiveness. There isn't much information out there yet that can be relied on. We'll just have to watch and see.. :D
