so even by our own admission these statements do not show any link between al qada and iraq.

yeh...this doesn't show anything but that people from iraq have spoken to people from al-qaeda? big surprise...of course people will talk to eachother sooner or later. And yeh it says nothing about saddam planning 9/11. Until i see smthg like that i do not find it very convincing.

there are simple reasons that a link between Al-qada and sadaam/iraq will be hard to prove

1) bin laden wants a islamist government over all of the muslim world with him at the helm
2) sadaam craves(craved?) a secularist government with fundamentalists surpressed(they would oppose his government) over all of the arab world with himself at the head

bin laden and sadaam actually are in opposition to each other. both may hate american and the west but they hate each other as well. each see the other as standing in the way to ultimate power.

I haven't read the article yet, however I don't NEED any more proof. I've heard enough already to know there's a connection.

Consider the relationship like Al Capone and "Bugs" Moran...they hate each other, but will use each other to get what they want...Saddam likes Al-Qaida's international base, Al-Qaida wants Saddam's bio-chem weapons-grade stuff...they make a deal...K?

Which part of we were bombing an Al-Quaeida base in the NE mountain of Oraq near the Iranian border do you not understand? Or is all of our intelligence just hear say? If you have something that disproves the US intelligence, please share it!!! There are 300,000 men and women who would love nothing better than to come home right away if our intelligence is wrong!!!

And as far as I can determine, I've never heard anyone say Saddam planned 9/11!?!?! What has that got to do with this war anyway? This is about ridding the world of a despot who kills his own when they disagree with him! And yes he has done it with bio/chem weapons!!
