This can't be

#1 Postby abajan » Thu Jul 22, 2004 4:00 pm

Earlier this afternoon a local radio announcer posed the following question to listeners:

"What were the only 2 animals to talk in the Old Testament of The Bible?"

Well, (not surprisingly) many listeners called in with the correct answer:

The serpent (in the Garden of Eden) and Balaam's donkey.

Here's what surprises me. The announcer stated that this very question was recently asked on Jeopardy and no one was able to answer it!

Has Bible knowledge declined that much in the U.S.A? Tell me it ain't so.

That depends -- do you believe the animal actually spoke, or that Someone actually spoke for the donkey (God) and someone actually spoke for the serpent (Satan).

Furthermore, didn't Balaam even say that he can only speak what God puts in his mouth?

Maybe his parents weren't Christian and so maybe he has never really studied the Bible.
