From now on as the season enters the most active period and as the CV season begins we will see the waves one after another a few more stronger than others roll off western africa but the real factor for those systems is how the enviroment will be as soon they splash into the water.

I think it's about time that we need to keep a closer eye on these waves 8-)

By the way, this might be a stupid question but what does SAL mean?

Aquawind read this from 8:05 Pm Discussion:

TROPICAL WAVE BETWEEN W AFRICA AND THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS ALONG
19W S OF 20N MOVING W NEAR 10-15 KT. THIS IS A WELL-DEFINED
WAVE WITH SATELLITE PICTURES QUIKSCAT SHOWING A BROAD
CIRCULATION WITH PERHAPS A WEAK LOW JUST OFFSHORE OF W AFRICA.
TSTMS HAVE INCREASED IN THE ITCZ S OF THE AXIS WITH ISOLATED
MODERATE FROM 8N-12N BETWEEN W AFRICA AND 23W.

Very interesting wave to watch down the road I think.

Oh it's massive the rotation..convection is getting SAL slapped.. but down the road with the prior waves juicing up an active ITCZ.. yes it will be worth watching..

Convection has increased with the wave and this one has the moist air that the waves in front leaved behind so let's see what happens.

The circulation is very close to that location as you can see in those wind directions at the Cape Verde islands.

Thsi wave is looking good right now, at least in the 12z dundee shot. Good convection wrapping from the south and broad circulation. Let's see if this one's a keeper......getting closer to the CV season :D
