Bush: U.S. ready for battle ahead

#1 Postby bfez1 » Wed Mar 26, 2003 1:44 pm

MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla., March 26 — President Bush said Wednesday that the war in Iraq is far from over and warned that coalition forces will face “the most desperate elements of a doomed regime” as they close in on Baghdad. Trying to rally troops and an anxious American public amid stiffening Iraqi resistance, Bush said, “We will stay on the path, mile by mile, all the way to Baghdad and all the way to victory.”

Ok thanks.

I thought the wording "Trying to rally troops" was a bit interesting since he didn't really have to try...they were hooping and hollering so much they couldn't have gotten any louder!

But since it's CNN, I guess that's as well as can be expected.

Anyway, thanks for all your breaking news posts...I for one appreciate them. I can't always see them on TV.

That's what Rumsfeld was saying on Tuesday in his daily press conferences. He was along side Gen. Myers and they both were confident about the movement into Baghdad.

There are going to be 2 wars at least. The first is the one going on now. The second will follow after the regime has fallen. Expect a lot of guerilla attacks even after the major war is over. The stragglers, and there may be thousands will continue to strike at soft targets to inflict casualties as much as possible. JMHO
