Heard it on Limblah, the tape. She said 'sometimes unamerican', referring to how people act in political dealings, and then tried to say she didn't. I did hear her say it though--sometimes. Meaning 'not always', but can and occassionally do act unAmerican.

I doubt she was referring to her husband, but a subliminal suggestion of what to look out for from her opposition.

The reporter was from Richard Mellon Scaife's paper (Pitts. Tribune?) and that's a notorious right-wing rag with the equally notorious moneybags Scaife, and she knew it. It wasn't much in the way of setting an example, but she made her point when dealing with the press.

streetsoldier wrote:I just found it strange that, after speaking to the good people of Pennsylvana about "positives", she fires off this one when questioned in-depth...i.e., she actions speak louder than her stated ideals.

BTW, I lived in a trailer too, once...and didn't care for the "neighborhood" at all.

She's a spitfire alright, Soldier. Kinda like some of the firery Southern Belles I know. ;) spunky

My in-laws (retired) moved up from a motorhome to a real trailer in a fishcamp in St. Augustine, FL and I had the honor of sleeping on the floor the first night it was delivered because there was no furniture yet. Eight months pregnant, talk about uncomfortable! lol

Watch me now, I'm launching into a Wario tale: He was born about a month later and (they had furniture by then) the mother-in-law invited me to stay there when we got out of the hospital--to be with someone. The dad was on a Med cruise and I was alone there in Mayport. We lasted about 2 or 3 days in the sweat box/sauna/steamroom--whatever you'd call it.

The point of this story is> That trailer had no air conditioning and the end of June in the Florida sun is not pretty inside those tin cans. I didn't know it but newborn babies can sweat! His little bassinete was soaked. It was pitiful and we beat it home to Jax and my a/c'd condo, as fast as I could make a graceful exit.

It was Kerry's wife who said it, so she should get the most blame. Why should Kerry have to get blamed for something?

She mouthed off at a reporter that had repeatedly distorted her opinion. I suppose if Laura Bush mouthed off to Ted Rall or Michael Moore, you would defend her??

GOP=good
DEM=bad

not very sophisticated IMO is it??

Way to evade the comparison Chad...Congrats.

regarding the topic at hand, I do not have a problem with Heinz snapping at a neo-conservative reporter who had repeatedly distorted her in the press.

And I did not have a problem with Jenna playfully sticking out her tongue at the media.

And I would not have a problem with Laura Bush snapping at Michael Moore.

Because I am above the reasoning that

No evasion. Laura Bush would never do anything like that in the first place. Problem here is how everyone is tap dancing around the real issue here. And that is, she told a reporter to shove it. Would she direct her husband to tell leaders around the world to "shove it?"

It is okay to nitpick the daughter of the President for merely sticking her tongue out at the liberal press, but when the shoe is on the other foot the blame game starts. Same spew, different day.

Tasteless? Speaking her mind is of course tasteless...

Ok Chad, next time Jennifer makes a post, I can call her chad? Instead of mrschad? Then we'll really know who I'm posting to?

(Jennifer, don't get mad, I'm just using you as an example so he can see his faux pas)

The Point: Mrs. Kerry has a mind and mouth of her own. And BEING AMERICAN has the perfect right to use them as she sees fit.

My Point: Treat the press and the press treats you. And in politics, stand up for your issues and don't let them 'dance you around' with distractions, hatefulness, and fear-mongering.

Pillowtalk? I think Terraza would be a very good counsel to the POTUS because of her 30 years experience in DC. Yes indeedy, if she thought they deserved it, she may... in pillowtalk.

IRL? I think the two of them know very well when protocol, tact, and diplomacy are called for.

How so, Lindaloo? Please explain where you see a double standard. Is this about MY behaviour?

Are you saying I'm being hateful, or malicious in any way?

Anyone remembers Bush (not knowing the mic was on) talking to Cheney about a certain reporter? "There goes so-and-so - a first class you-know-what."

And who can forget Cheney's little tirade of foul language just recently?

These "gentlemen" are presently President and Vice President respectively. Teresa Heinz-Kerry isn't even First Lady.

I think the real problem is that she's a woman who has ambition (a cardinal sin for a woman but not a man) and isn't afraid to speak her mind (another sin).

Here in Barbados, our Deputy Prime Minister is a woman who gets a lot of flak for those very reasons.

He is right on the mark as far as you go. You say one thing and defend, then say another and attack.
