Heinz-Kerry tells reporter to "Shove it!" (?)
Moderator: S2k Moderators
Wow I've never seen so much overreaction in my life. This is a non issue period. If I were to put words in somebody's mouth here over and over and over again I'm sure I'd be banned or called an idiot to say the least.
I'll leave you with this. A quote from our President GWB.
"You f*****g son of a B**CH. I saw what you wrote. We're not going to forget this."
—George W. Bush to writer and editor Al Hunt, in front of his wife and kids, 1988

Easy. O'Reilly doesn't let his guest get a word in edgewise. He tells them to SHUDDUP. And he does that quite often. They all do, the right-wing radio gasbags. The moment someone starts to make a point, they cut him off then ridicule whatever comes to mind. Hannity on tv too.
Teresa was the guest being 'cut off', so she told him to 'shove it' and left. She didn't even raise her voice. (unlike O'Reilly)
Much like Cheney telling Leahy to f*off when he was being pestered about his Halliburton deals.
First off...O'Reilly is not a right wing anything. He's an independant.
If he cuts somebody off (which he has to do often) its because they are "spinning". It's the no spin zone..remember??
As far as Cheney....
First of all, the vice president used the “F-word” in a private situation, whereas Sen. Kerry’s use of the word was done in a highly public and open environment in an interview with a popular magazine read by millions of easily influenced, impressionable youth.
Secondly, Sen. Leahy deserved everything that Cheney had to say to him, especially after the senator had done all he could to destroy Mr. Cheney’s reputation during public testimony on Capitol Hill, then had the audacity to run into Cheney and kiss up to him as if all was well and, “No hard feelings, Mr. Vice President, right?” Wrong.
Leahy's shameful two-faced reputation precedes him and accusing the VP of selling out U.S. troops in Iraq for profits is just plain Michael Mooreish.

C'mon Chad this is pure bunk. He deserved to be told much worse then he got. This isn't about left wing/ring wing gibberish either, because I would feel the exact same way if Laura Bush did it. NON ISSUE.

I did admit it, Chad. Did you miss this from page 2 of this thread?
Now I'm done with this convo since you are so annoyed. Thanks for allowing me the pleasure...
...then I went into a fish story.Kiko wrote:Heard it on Limblah, the tape. She said 'sometimes unamerican', referring to how people act in political dealings, and then tried to say she didn't. I did hear her say it though--sometimes. Meaning 'not always', but can and occassionally do act unAmerican.
I doubt she was referring to her husband, but a subliminal suggestion of what to look out for from her opposition.
The reporter was from Richard Mellon Scaife's paper (Pitts. Tribune?) and that's a notorious right-wing rag with the equally notorious moneybags Scaife, and she knew it. It wasn't much in the way of setting an example, but she made her point when dealing with the press.streetsoldier wrote:I just found it strange that, after speaking to the good people of Pennsylvana about "positives", she fires off this one when questioned in-depth...i.e., she actions speak louder than her stated ideals.
BTW, I lived in a trailer too, once...and didn't care for the "neighborhood" at all.
She's a spitfire alright, Soldier. Kinda like some of the firery Southern Belles I know.spunky

My Lord, four pages on "shove it." I would think most of you guys who are so concerned about this would have been ten times as outraged at "f*ck off." But so far as I can tell, there does not seem to be a forty-page thread on the Dick incident.
Who gives a damn anyway... she's not going to be the President. Allowing the candidate's wife to play a major role in one's voting decision is frighteningly short-sighted, IMHO.

I wonder if Jenna and Barbara were "impressionable" in 1988 when their dad called Al Hunt a F**cking son of a B**tch in front of his kids??

It matters not... the fact that you try to use technicalities to somehow prove that his spewing of profanity was less of a problem than this incident indicates you are being hopelessly partisan. I am not excusing Heinz's comment whatsoever; she lost her temper and said something she should not have. Evidently, the same thing happened with Cheney. Can we both agree on this... that one is no worse than the other?
BTW, the argument "his was not in a public place" is boggling my mind, because he said it on the SENATE FLOOR where clearly there were numerous people standing near enough to hear and leak it to the media.

Dryline, that aspect has been explored. Pillowtalk and how much influence a wife has 'behind closed doors'...

I do not consider the Senate floor a public place (have you ever tried to get in???) and the comment was directed at Leahy, and Leahy only.
As I highlighted above...this was, as you stated a "leak", not intended for the eyes and ears of all America.
It was not laid on the table for little Joey to read and giggle over.
