The latest satellite and radar show the beginnings of convection very near to the LLC in the GOM.

I was looking at that as well and it is starting to develop near the center.

Weather channel just said the one in the GOM is the one to watch and the one off the bahamas is associated with an upper level feature. After seeing the models my guess Is LA to the Florida panhandle.

With that little blob of thunderstorms near the center of the one in the gulf, if that holds, right now is the start of something we been waiting for for a while.

We are getting heavy!!! Rain from the system in The GOM. A band if you will :lol: Look at the satellite I am just nw of Tampa :eek:

I'm much more impressed with the system near the Bahamas right now. The Florida system blew up this afternoon, but I think a lot of that was caused by the daytime heating.

Appearance on the IR4 sat. loops doesn't mean much, convection is of little important right now. 90L has a broad circulation at the surface, 99L doesn't. Convection should begin to increase later tomorrow in the GOM, and then we'll have something on our hands.
