we were all monitoring on 9/11. Does anyone recall for sure?

yes... that would be it... she made landfall nearing hurricane strength just a few days after... Mark Sudduth and I were planning on heading down... With everything going on, I think everyones attention was in NYC, DC, and so on, that we decided to hold on before leaving and missed the boat... i guess that is a long answer to your short, to the point question.. lol...

Yea, Gabrielle formed on 9/11. It makes you wonder, too, because Gabriel, the male form of the name, is a messanger from God. Scary... maybe God was saying everything would be alright.

At the same time, Hurricane Erin was a Category 3 churning out in the Atlantic near Bermuda. However, because of 9/11 and the grounding of all flights, no recon could go out to check on her.

Also on 9/11, a TD was upgraded to TS Felix. Felix would eventually become a Category 3 hurricane.
