I work in insurance on the Outer Banks and I can tell you I do not want to see anything even closely resembling a hurricane here again. Even for people who had minimal damage to their homes, they have the disruption in their lives to deal with, in addition to trying to hire contractors, clean up the damage, dry the carpets, etc.
Having a tropical system bear down on you is exciting, I'll grant you that, but I hope I never get another sniff of one.
I used to be in the "bring it on" category when it came to storms, almost hoping to be hit. After Floyd and Isabel, I am firmly in the "I hope never again" category.
Unbelievable...
