My guess is that he confessed to killing her and dumping her, but no, they haven't found her body yet.
The confession (if there was one) and the fact that they found substantial amounts of "evidence" (Lori's blood) in the apartment, dumpster, and her car could be enough to convict. I've seen some cases depicted on legal dramas where no body was found, but the amount of blood indicated fatal exsanguination (it was obvious that no one could survive losing that much blood).

Here's a thought. Maybe he dumped her body in a dumpster, behind a store close to home. How would we know then where her body ended up and in what specific spot at the landfill? I would think it's difficult to dump anything in a landfill unless you're driving a dump truck. An average joe pulling up in a car, heavy bag in tow would look suspicious. A dump truck full of dry fill would get waved in.
And here's a question - is the landfill being searched a garbage dump or a dry fill type landfill (a former quarry for example)?

heard an interview last night with a worker from the landfill. She said that within an hour of a truck arriving with a load, that it is compacted.
Another expert said that using cadaver (sp?) dogs would be useless in a landfill since the over abundance of methane gases would be confusing to the dogs.
They are going to have to sift through the mountain of trash much like an archaeological dig.
bts....did ya'll see the convenience store video of this scum buying a pack of cigarettes or something. They believe that he came into the store after killing his wife...he fidgets with his hands, looking at both sides, and then appears to pick something out of his watch band (I don't even want to think what that could be).

What I heard was that, if Lori's body is in the landfill, it's under 18-20 feet of garbage, and could be anywhere within the dump.
It was also noted that Hacking was wearing different clothing in the 1:30 AM video at the store; seen checking his hands, watchband, avoiding eye contact, and it was unclear if he actually made a purchase at all.

j - I was thinking the same thing as I heard he was picking something out of his watch. This story gets more tragic by the day. Now police believe she was killed while she slept. That's premeditated then. And her poor family - they don't even have a body to properly bury.
You can't help but compare Scott Peterson to Mark Hacking. Both men sure put on a show for their wives' families and friends. Having two daughters, I hope and pray they find decent, caring spouses someday but honestly? If they don't, that's okay with me b/c all I have to think of are Laci and Lori. Both women would have been better off still single. A man isn't always the answer.
