Thanks for all your concerns for my safety, guys!
Well, funny thing is, soon after I shut down my computer the weather improved considerably but it's lightly overcast. It's not raining now and there's almost no wind. However, judging from the latest satellite pix, looks like there's more heavy stuff headed my way.
I'll keep you updated from time to time.

Glad to hear you report in to S2K, Abajan. TD 2 is looking pretty pertinent late this afternoon, so take care!

Things look much worse on satellite than on the ground in Barbados. Abajan is located on the western side of the island, I am on the east (not that Barbados is that big but when it rains it makes a difference).
I've had three brief showers - heard one rumble of thunder in the distance.
My wife is on a church excursion to the north of the island and they have had one brief downpour. She called recently to say that the black clouds were moving in again but they were not aborting their excursion (today is a holiday as was yesterday).
As you know by now Saint Lucia issued a storm warning and tomorrow I will chat with colleagues there to see what's happening. At any rate we usually publish damage reports from the islands at http://www.cdera.org/ - but these reports only cover 16 Caribbean states which are members of our organisation.

It's been raining steadily for the past 20 minutes or so (I think, because I was sleeping and was awakened by its sound). Despite the presentation on the IR satallite pix, it's not particularly heavy yet but there are some flashes of lightning and a bit of distant thunder.
Anyway, I've got a pretty busy day tomorrow and really need to catch up on my zzz's so this will be my last report for the night.
Goodnight...

Oh well, all's well that ends well
By the time I got to bed (about 15 minutes after my last post) the rain had got heavier, the lightning brighter and more frequent and the thunder louder.
I awoke yesterday morning to overcast conditions with light rain but no thunder and lightning. Conditions improved progressively throughout the day with a few showers from time to time.
Barbados as a whole feared quite well with only some minor flooding in a few places and no wind damage that I know of.

There was a freak incident last night - early hours of this morning with very strong winds on the northeast of the island which left one house roof-less ... seems like a microburst.
We had just over one inch of rain from TD2 while St Vincent to the west of Barbados recorded 10 inches of rain which closed the island's airport as the runway was covered with debris from the floods.
