Jessica was laid to rest today

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Thu Aug 05, 2004 9:28 am

I just wanted to let you guys know that I just found out Jessica was laid to rest this morning at a church over in St. Cloud.

There is also news that a scholarship fund in her name has been set up at my banks' St. Cloud Branch

God Bless Jessica, the McMullen family, the city of St. Cloud, and the ones grieving

I know Matt.. I'm going to need you guys more than ever..

My church last night seemed very apathetic.. My pastor did read my prayer card about Jessica, but after service.. NOT 1 PERSON came up to me and asked me how I was doing..

It made me sick thinking about it.. I haven't shed too many tears so far these last 2 days.. But last night I shed a good chunk after the apparent lack of care from my church.

I know it could have been at least they didn't know what to say.. But.. I wasn't too fond of them last night

John,

I don't understand that about why your church congregation members either?

I mean a ((((HUG))))...or loving pat on the back and a "I'm very sorry to hear about what's happened to your friend, John" would have been a very appropriate gesture of love and caring.

You're a terrific Wxbuddy Friend among many others here, Brother! :)

Again sorry for your loss.

I have to wonder if your congregation even knew of the depth of your relationship with the young girl. As it stands here, the only thing you have mentioned about her and you from your other topic is that you went to 5 or 6 of her games. But that's about it. Perhaps as a result they all thought it wasn't a big of a deal to express any compassion directly with you, although the real truth FOR YOU was to the contrary. Depending on the setting and the types and numbers of mourners involved, as a rule, I have found expressions of common grief are shared most often with the members of the immediate family.
Keep your chin up....

Good point Zeppelin..

Still makes me feel uneasy.. I did go to a handful of her games as mentioned.. Whenever I was there.. we talked.. not for real long.. but just long enough to see how each other was doing.

If I'd ever boo at her during a game.. she'd actually smile and sometimes even laugh lol..

Jessica and I may not have been really close.. but it still hurts me tremendously that she's gone..

Losing someone close to you or that you knew well will do that to ya John. You just gotta buckle up and try to get over it. I'm sorry if I'm being trite, but that's the way that I was able (well, sort of) to get over Robert's death by suicide.
