Tidbit from 8:00AM Trop Disc

Comments about SAL and MJO.

TROPICAL ATLANTIC...
THE MOST NOTABLE FEATURE IS VERY DRY AIR IN MID/UPPER LEVELS W
OF 45W WITH WEAK HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT. TROPICAL WAVE ALONG 42W
IS MOVING INTO THIS DRY AIR AND IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE IF
THIS INHIBITS FURTHER DEVELOPMENT. OTHERWISE EASTERLIES ALOFT
DOMINATE THE AREA S OF 17N BETWEEN AFRICA AND THE LESSER
ANTILLES. DAILY PRESSURE AVERAGES ARE RISING IN THE TROPICAL
ATLC... POSSIBLY DUE TO THE NEGATIVE (OR SINKING) PHASE OF THE
MADDEN-JULIAN OSCILLATION IN THE BASIN.. WHICH PROMOTES
HIGHER-THAN-AVERAGE PRESSURES IN THE DEEP TROPICS.
