Since our historical hurricane named Alex formed, there has been like a trough from the system through South Florida, everyday afternoon storms developed in part thanks to the trough. As the system moved away from the mainland the trough continued over South Floroda. Now a cold front has come and it's probably interacting with the trough causing those thunderstorms that we are seeing. Something interesting to watch since something can spin-up if the thunderstorms persist for a period of time. That's probably what it's happening but I'm not sure!
