That'll most likely be the first of many corny lines associated with that

My Bonnie spins over the ocean,
My Bonnie spins over the sea,
The model ensembles are showing
she'll be curving toward Tallahassee!

Bonnie is the only hurricane I've been through, in 1986. The eye passed right over my house. It caused a lot of damage around here for a cat.1/borderline cat.2 hurricane. I've been through several tropical storms though.

Tropical Storm Bonnie turns to the NW, NNW, N, NNE, NE and even ENE CAN take place no matter how far west it gets.

There are a lot of variables as each hour goes by, there can be things that aren't expected occurring with this storm.

I must be missing something, no one in this thread said anything about Bonnie moving northwesterly now.

2 things about that.

1. It is intensifying. I am surprised about a closed wall, would have thought it would be open

2. The westward motion has nearly ended

It's still moving more west than north. We saw a 3 min tick to the north and a 9 min tick to the west. That's even west of WNW.

The NHC said so in their 4pm advisory.
"Bonnie is moving toward the northwest near 12 mph...and this general motion is forecast to continue tonight."

Right, they must have reason for saying that.

That's how they initialized it. It is obviously not right. The vortex fixes show a 285 motion....as does the radar in cancun and the vis satellite loop.

All the "Bonnie lies over" stuff stopped being funny about 5 seconds after the 54th newspaper headline using it for Hurricane Bonnie in 1998.

Now, if Charley can just get retired this year and replaced with "Clyde" then you've got something.

Bonnie will have to make a sharp turn to let anyone on the North Gulf Coast off the hook. This is the fun part folks.

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.

Model Runs Cheat Sheet:
GFS (5:30 AM/PM, 11:30 AM/PM)
HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged

Opinions my own.
