I think this is not the right thing to do.

What is your opinion on this ban?

That would explain the ridiculous auto insurance rates in NJ too.

You got that right! Luckily, it isn't my town that banned them. We have a yellow ribbon around our maple and oak trees out front for JR.

I need to get my yellow ribbon out! I have a small piece tied on the antenna of my car, but I would like to find some nice thick pieces I can thread in the chain link fence we have going around the side of the house.

That mayor is a Democrat and does not support the war against Saddam Hussein! He also notes that the Johnson's are Republicans. All 6 on the council that voted unanimously that she had to remove it were also soldily Democrat.

Here's a link with more details...

I hope the town shows him by everyone putting yellow ribbons and signs in their yards. That man should be ashamed!

When I first saw this post, I kind of assumed that's what it was all about as the article states and you pointed out. You're right, he should be ashamed of himself! With something like this, it shouldn't be about politics. No wonder why nothing important can get accomplished! Both sides (not necessarily in this article), but in general, act as if we're in high school when it comes to getting something accomplished. Stuff like this really disgusts me and it makes me think that the majority of the people that are in politics now and running our country (no specific party intended) are in it only for the power and glory, not to serve their constituents.

I'll have to get my sister's perspective on all this; she lives in New Medford, in the Pine Barrens (home of the Jersey Devil)...let me get back to ya, OK?

What is your opinion on this ban?

It's an outrage....sickening to me in all honesty :grrr:

Thank God I live in Georgia....where we're proud of our military vets....where we honor their sacrifice. Hunter Park, the largest park in Douglas County is named in honor of 1st Lt. Robert Gerald Hunter, lost when his USAF fighter was shot down over North Vietnam in 1966.

Chief Warrant Officer Ron Young, Jr. grew up here, graduated from Douglas County H.S.; his parents live here. His Apache helicopter was shot down last week and he was captured by the Iraqi's. US flags and large yellow ribbons are going up everywhere. The sheriff department installed a large flagpole in his parent's front yard, complete with a US and POW flag...on behalf of Douglas County.
That New Jersey towns leaders should be ashamed of themselves...

I think the Jersey Devil bit that Mayor's butt...

Medford isn't that far away from where I live. Fieldsboro must be up north (those darn Northerners LOL!!). I would love to hear what she has to say Bill (and of course your perspective  ). This should be good...

The pronouncement from the Pine Barrens is....BULL$#!=!

Please note that Jan (my nickname for her is "Ears") is NO friend to the GOP, but she very well understands the necessity of this war, and supports it.

yeh they just don't want people randomly putting stuff where ever they please. on their own property is fine, but not just randomly putting them everywhere without getting permission.
