bring it on

#2 Postby Patrick99 » Tue Aug 10, 2004 1:41 pm

Bring it on. I could use a day off from work at home, listening to swirling wind and rain outside my window. Good stuff. Closest thing we ever get in Florida to a snow day......

I am in a bring it on mood also as long as it's not too strong.. Although experiencing my 2nd hurricane would be nice..

3 of the 5 models take it through Florida.. 1 through South.. 1 into the Gulf and into Central and the other 1 right up the state..

Looks like Charley has us all over it..

{wonders if I'm short any hurricane supplies lol}

This would be catastrophic if it hit just north of Tampa Bay as a Cat 2+ ... The surge going up the bay would be DEVASTATING.

Way too early....

#15 Postby Stormcenter » Tue Aug 10, 2004 1:55 pm

It's way too early to worry about Charly. He may not even make it into the GOM. If you notice the models keep moving him to the right with each run. Hopefully he will turn out to sea and be a fish storm.

The GFS has it hitting NJ - though in a weakened state! :eek:

However, right now Charley needs to sew himself backup - he's split into two.

He does look like he is falling apart. A long outflow boundary has come out that big feeder band from the north of the system so that big area of showers and thunderstorms should weaken soon.
