Local area forecast from NWS

#1 Postby Amanzi » Wed Aug 11, 2004 11:00 am

NWS JAX
Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 9am. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 30. Windy, with a northwest wind 13 to 16 mph increasing to between 54 and 57 mph. Winds could gust as high as 86 mph.

Is 54 - 57mph really possible seeming as I am on the East coast?

Leaping Lizards lol..

Yes I think it is Amanzi.. If the storm comes on shore and shoots up the state or through the peninsula.. then I think your winds could be that strong..

Tropical storm force winds are now 115 miles from the center so that is possible. Batten down the hatches lol

LOL MF... I think Charlie may like your area a bit more than mine!! ;)

Dude on channel 2 showed a close up of his probable track for charlie. He brings the center of circulation right over my area... I just hope there is not much of a center left by then!
