Short answer: Never, if your talking about hurricanes.
The last time it happened was in 1916...but storms didn't have names back then. Hurricane #1 hit around Biloxi in early July. Hurricane #2 skirted Long Island and Cape Cod in late July, about the same time Hurricane #3 smacked north of Charleston.

Where's the "A" storm? The question was how many times has the first 3 named storms of a season affected the US mainland?

that's #2 3 & 4... not 1, 2, 3
I knew that someone was going to ask that question but I have the answer. The first named system of the 1955 hurricane season formed on December 30, the same day it became a tropical storm and was named "Alicia", but it was still the year 1954, not 1955. During December 31st, the system became a hurricane, and it lasted until January 6 having a crazy & unusual path. That's why "Alicia" is counted in all records as a 1954 storm and not a 1955 storm, subsequently the first tropical storm of the 1955 hurricane season was named with the "B" letter, or Brenda.

Ain't the first time I've been corrected...
That's a cool little bit of hurricane trivia!
I'll stand with my answer as the first three hurricanes of the season, though.
