Voluntary evacuations under way for

Marco Island Florida. Just reported on local NBC station.

I cant imagine anyone at this point leaving. It would take about a day maybe to evacuate that place.

On the other hand- I'd love to get a voluntary evacuation request in advance- it means the authorities are worried aobut landfall and I can set everything to rights. I'd have time to move any important documents, grab the irreplacable photographs and even organize where I'm going and how I'm going to get there with my cat in tow... rather than making a mad dash away from the coast 12 hours before landfall with a million other goons.

I would think that they would have a voluntary evacuation for Sanibel and Captiva Islands as well. They're not that far to the north and there's only ONE BRIDGE to the mainland.
