Tornado threat increasing inland

#1 Postby Dmetal81 » Thu Aug 12, 2004 10:13 am

Seems the tornado threat inland is increase as Bonnie tracks north.

Looks like GA and SC can expect an additional tornado watch fairly shortly.

Thanks for that D.. I'm trying to pay attention to Bonnie even though she is definitely NOT my main concern..

Stay safe all in Bonnie's path

Indeed, I am also not as concerned with bonnie as charlie, here in SC a small left deviation to his path brings his remnants directly my way. Although getting rain from bonnie right now, having 2 systems come through so close apart causes a bit of concern for flooding, even if it has been dry.

Indeed, there is a tornado watch for the panhandle/north central fla, south ga. But as the system progresses north so does the thread, looks like the carolinas might have a stormy afternoon

We are already under a tornado watch...skies are getting darker, clouds are swiftly passing by, looks ominous to my west and winds are picking up. No real rain bands yet but looking at the radar, they are not far away. A good day to be home (although I am at work :( I do wonder though if the Univ. of Fl. will close tomorrow...I sure hope so. I live 30 mi. NW of GNV and thinking about just taking the day off anyway. Last time UF shut down was Floyd in 99 even though it just skirted us. Hopefully the administrators will look at the best interests of the employees due to the fact this is the break between summer and fall and there are no classes right now. There has been some mention of it from the Dean of our college but no word since then. Our new President is from Iowa or some place that these types of things do not occur but it takes the Governor's SOE to start the process (which he did yesterday)
