One other quick Fix to Fix bullet (rounding to convert to decimal):
Recon Fix at 9:30AM: 19.5N 81.0W
Recon Fix at 11:15AM: 19.9N 81.2W
So that's a change of .4 degrees and .2 west.
So thinking in terms of a compass, of the 90 degrees between 270 and 360, 67% of the motion is to the north and 33% to the west (or a 2 to 1 ratio).
This rounds to 60 degrees on the compass to 270 which is an estimated motion of 330 degrees (NNW)...plus or minus 10 degrees for rounding.
Of course these are fix to fix and are not reliable in terms of true motion...but if the present trend holds it looks like the NNW motion has started to occur.

Just interview Dr. Rappaport on channel 4 - in background had havana longrange radar loop. Clearly can see a northward jog that he alluded to, however, he was going o wait to see if it was a permanent sharper turn to the north a just a wobble.
From looking at the loop I can tell you it is more than just a wobble.

Bryan Norcross (CBS Miami) JUST hinted at this and said something to the effect that this movement may have to be analyzed as far as a projected path for Charley. Not a red-alert at all, just an observation on his part that he happened to comment on as I read Watkins' post.

Based on sat pics, it looks like landfall could be to east of where predicted or if at predicted landfall may go off SC/GA coast and intensify before going north. Big question will be landfall SC or NC? If he stays off coast a little longer who knows. I'm still holding off on where I think it will go.

lots of Miami Lakes people here...currently raining in Miami lakes now. Just rmember norcross "hinted" yesterday that chuck might run the gut of florida from south to north...that would be a tough scenario considering a trough coming in but i guess we should be aware anyway.
