You are the same guy that said was not going develop at all a few days ago...

so in other word s MOST of the weather models were 100% correct with this trough which you well kind of ignored...

Charley is NOT getting his act together slowly at all... nor will it be slow intensification

Once Bonnie is inland and far away in NG and SC I think he will head back to 310 as the 500 MB hts rebuild a Little bit

MGC wrote:Looking at the situation this morning I've come to the conclusion that the trough currently digging into the GOM is way stronger than I ever imagined for August. The trough is currently pushing Bonnie on a close to ENE track towards the Florida Big Bend area, a sparcely populated area. Bonnie looks to have begun the extratropical transition. Now on to Charlie. Charlie is getting his act together slowly. An eye is now visible and slow intensification will occur until landfall in Cuba tonight. I expect a NNW track later today with a north track tomorrow morning. Charlie should pass west of Key West. I expect landfall between Sarasoda and Ft Myers as a stong cat 2 hurricane or miminal cat 3.......MGC

I got your point Johnathan and I'm all the way up here in Ohio! But have a relative whose condo is in the Tampa area, at Indian Rocks Beach to be specific. He's traveling right now in the upper Midwest so he's out of harm's way. I'm relieved but I know he's worried about his property just the same.

I realized you wanted folks to take this threat seriously.

PS - I'm seeing double and triple posts today? Just a glitch perhaps? Anyone else noticing this?

65% chance of being a Category 3
30% chance of being a Category 4
5% chance of being a Category 2

Best we can hope for is that Charley continues on far enough west to get sheared by the trough. I wonder if the 42 story Bank of America Building in Tampa is rated for a cat 3 hurricane or not?

Looking at water vapor loops I (just a observer) think the trough is Already near pensacola and pushing east a lot quicker than charley is moving north so does it may a harder right or just get squashed

Think about it before you make assumptions such as this. The response was made wrt you and DT starting to fight about anything except the original subject which was where could Charley go. There is not a moderator on this site that will say that just because you asked a question. Did you notice the thread came back on subject after the bickering stopped? We always ENCOURAGE questions being asked as long as they pertain to the subject matter at hand and not you said/I said about something other than the original subject.

Nonsense!

I asked questions pertaining to the original topic and stuck to those questions. Although the original poster called me a liar, I still continued to stick to the original topic.

As this site continues to gain in popularity (which it will...it is very well done)...you will find more and more professionals lurking. Perhaps even some from NHC. And maybe now and then, some of these professionals will ask legitimate questions that just may just cause defensive responses from some.

I think it's because the server is soooo busy and everyone is posting. When we hit "submit," the new page is slow to load and some of us are tempted to hit "submit" a second (or third) time -- thus making duplicates and triplicates. :)

I am going to say it will be somewhere around 125-130 mph..

With that said.. with me being on the east side.. I'd be probably in for a bumpier ride than I bargained for..

HeatherAKC wrote:Rainband.........They amaze you because??

They're sharing their personal thoughts, ideas, philosophies on Hurricane Charley. And you're a Mod? That comment was quite condenscending and goes against what all the Mods were discussing yesterday....Hummm....

If you disagree, perhaps you could engage in some discussion rather than throw an insult. I just find it hypocritical.

...because it's irresponsible to think that the storm will miss Tampa. It throws out the wrong impression to a population that is ALREADY complacent that they won't be affected. DO WE KNOW THIS FOR SURE - HECK NO!!!!

Rainband participates in all kinds of discussions and is worried about what may end up happening along the WC of Florida just like everyone else.

I'd hate to see what Tampa's going to look like after Charley passes

Intense Cat 3 is what I hope for.
Cat 4 is what I'm afraid of...

I would not be surprised to see a Cat 5- although I don't think it's likely.
