That will NEVER happen rainstorm. Just because Saddam wants something does not mean he will get it, especially from the United States! He had his chance and blew it. We take killing our soldiers serious and he has killed them and enjoyed it. Oh he WILL surrender or he WILL be killed. But free pass? NEVER GONNA HAPPEN! To be honest, I believe that tyrant is already dead!!

i would be reassured if i could hear president bush announce a policy of unconditional surrender. anything less means negotiation is possible. i agree completely with you. our policy needs to be that we will kill saddam wherever we find him. my fear is that delay will build international pressure on us to agree to a cease fire. even today, it seems turkey ans saudi arabia are now refusing to allow cruise missile overflights because of misfires. i agree that saddam may not get what he wants, and i hope he does get what he deserves

OK, look...it makes perfect sense to me, even if we AREN'T stopping...our troops are suffering from sleep deprivation and lack of 3 squares, our supply lines are 300 miles long and overextended, and we need to (a) shore up security around the supply line, (b) GET the supplies in to the forward areas, and (c) saturate any and all resistance using our air power to soften up the "big prize" before we move in. Add (d) getting 4ID into it ASAP, as wel as the Australian main force (still enroute) and airdrop broadening troops in the north and west.
This CAN BE DONE, people...why in such a hurry for the "quick fix"? This war ain't no Mickey D's window, y'know.

You tell 'em streetsoldier

Actually, for some people, not ALL people, it's a need to complain. There are some who wouldn't be happy with the way we wiped their butt!

I don't see any chance on earth that Saddam Hussein and his other cronies escape into asylum....not now that atrocities have been perpetrated against U.S. military personnel.
It's now becoming very obvious that captured and missing US soldiers have been executed....some tortured and mutilated to death--including three young women from a US army supply company.
The U.S. cannot allow Iraqi leaders that sanction such horrendous war crimes go unpunished. Don't be surprised to see severe retribution by U.S. soldiers and pilots on those three young women's behalf....because some of them are like me: they have little sisters too
