New to the boards, and certainly not a meteorologist.
I noticed how those feeder bands near the keys exploded
as the system gets closer to the GOM. Is this a sign of what the IR might look like once this baby hits the GOM?

Hmmm....You read my mind. I was about to post the same subject. Convection is EXPLODING south of the Keys right now. This is CERTAINLY a sign of what Charlie WILL do once it enters the sauna waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This system is just impressive right now, imagine...
