I cant help but to be excited by this rare event. I love the fact that we have such good radar coverage while this storm makes his way up the coast. I feel bad for admitting that I am going to wait in anticipation for landfall from Charley. Storm surge and The eyewall at landfall should be spectacular....
On the back end I forget to think about the lives at stake and the utter distruction that may happen with this storm. I rode out Andrew and I want those in the path to know that my thoughts and prayers are with them. When I woke up this morning my wife had me check the track of Charley and I felt relieved to know that I would be safe in Fort Lauderdale, but she was a little disapointed that she would not get to expirence her first. It was difficult to explain to her that this is a blessing in disguise for us.
So the even though hurricane enthusiast in me wants to see a major storm barrel the coast.... The human being in me wants this thing to fizzle before it touches the coast...
