Now comes the hard part

Charley's still moving, still roaring, and has the east coast in his sights for Saturday morning. But when we wake up in the AM, we'll start seeing aerial shots of the devastation in FL and hearing death tolls already. :(

I just woke up a little while ago and rolled over to turn on the TV. It's all "recorded earlier" news on the news channels, but they're already talking about a few of the casualties folks have mentioned here. But I'm afraid it's just going to be twenty times worse when we get more details in the morning.

I should go back to sleep....

you probably should....I have such a sick feeling in my stomach....and I'm nowhere near there..
All of those poor people..
Did I ever say I wanted a hurricane to come to me?? NEVERMIND!
I don't want to ever see that kind of destruction..
I'm going to open up my pocketbook though...I hate that that is all we can do.....I'm sure the REd Cross will be taking donations..
:(

goodlife: please specify that your donation go DIRECTLY to the victimes of Hurricane Charley. The Red Cross was investigated after Andrew because they took in so much money in donations that went to their General Fund, and not to efforts focused on Andrew survivors.

yeah...they did that after 9/11 too...I refused to send a donation to them because of that...I made donations to other funds instead..
If anyone hears of any other reliable orgs who are taking donations...please post them!
