Being here about 60 miles south of Tampa...it has snowed here a few times, but nothing too significant.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if theres ever been snow in Key West or Miami... seems unlikely but you never know.

It probably should be noted that the winter in which that happened (1976-77) was one of the coldest on record.
That winter featured strong and persistent high latitude blocking and a positive PNA pattern. Those factors caused the mean trough position to be in the eastern part of the U.S. the majority of the winter. Not just January.
Oddly enough, it was a weak El Nino winter, with an East QBO.

To add to that ...
In January 1977, the first (and only time that I know of) that all 50 states reported snow cover on the ground at one time ... (and I believe we're talking about 1" or greater snow depth).
I BARELY remember that winter, and I remember the severity of the cold in Charleston with several winter events coming through Charleston ... and also of note, it still stands as the all-time coldest average temperature for one month (of any month)

January 19, 1977 -- snowed in both West Palm Beach and Miami Beach. Not sure if any snow fell at the Miami recording station, so it may not show in the records, but it did snow around Miami. Next morning, WPB recorded its coldest ever temperature -- 27.
Key West, no snow. I remember on a Conch Train tour, the guide said the coldest ever was 41.
On a related note, I was talking (writing?) on and off with another WPBer during the winter on another tropical wx board. Nothing else going on that time of year, so we got a little off topic. Anyway, he swore up and down that he saw flurries falling west of WPB on Christmas morning '89. It was certainly cold enough that morning, so it is entirely possible. I can't verify it, and the airport didn't record any snow, but I love the thought of a White Christmas in South Florida.

If I'm not mistaken, I also heard about something along that lines as well, and that was an amazing snowstorm which I was fortunate to get almost a food of snow just NW of Charleston that year ...
