Danielle Nears Hurricane Intensity

#1 Postby HURAKAN » Sat Aug 14, 2004 2:44 pm

According to NRL Monterey Danielle has continued to intensify and now sustains winds up to 65 mph, and 994 mb, just 9 mph winds shy of hurricane intensity. Danielle has initiated the Cape Verde Season and it looks it will have to be respected like every year. The image is excellent and astonishing!!!

We might have 4 major hurricanes by next weekend if Earl and Danielle make it that strong. By looking at her right now im sure she is on her way there and Earl could be on his way there to.

Where does it says she has 65mph winds. I only see 45kts or 50mph.

I doubt if she makes it to Cat 3 or higher. She is moving over cooler waters shortly, and will probably recurve towards the Canaries and Europe. Very impressive for a storm so far east though.

Wow, Danielle is looking very nice. Hurricane strength is a given, but the intensity should level off for the time. If she makes it past 50W, it should make it to Cat. 2.

55kts equals close to 65 mph, good structure for a storm that far out in atlantic. Should make cane easily, nhc doesn't seem it will it past 50 long, fish storm.

I'm curious too. The last Atlantic "D" storm to be a major hurricane was Hurricane Diana in 1984.

No chance at it not being a fish storm with the current development

I don't see major hurricane status here, but hurricane status appears inevitable.

Let's see... five storms right now and four have been/are forecasted to become hurricanes. Wow!
