4:15 PM EDT Storm2k Atlantic Tropical Update,August 15

#1 Postby cycloneye » Sun Aug 15, 2004 3:17 pm

After hurricane Charley made landfall twice in the US first in Florida and later in South Carolina now the attention shifts to 2 systems one in the eastern caribbean sea and the other in the eastern atlantic.

Tropical storm Earl continues to race westward thru the eastern caribbean sea.The system has an excellent outflow in almost all quadrants but there is is a question about if there is a closed circulation due to the very rapid movement. If it continues the track west to westnorthwestward at 280 degres it would arrive at Belize or the Yucatan Penninsula but always thee is a big margin of error when the time is far ahead so I wont venture too far in time for now. This system has the potential to be a hurricane but it has to slow down from the speed it is moving at this time (28 mph).

Huuricane Danielle continues to exibit a well distint eye as it moves westnorthwestward but the question about Danielle is if it will get caught in a trough or it may miss it.My take is that it will be grabbed by the trough and shear will increase weakening the system after 48 hours. This system poses no threat to land exept for shipping lanes.

Elsewhere in the atlantic tropical storm formation is not expected theu monday.
