Sorry to here that, David! :(

David, there will be other girls, trust me on this! :) Was Steph your first girlfriend? If so, join the club. Continue to think positive about the situation. :) Yes, Steph closed the door, but those other doors are just waiting to be opened. :)

Nothing against Steph; I am sure she was a nice girl, but who knows, the other possibilites maybe even better.

Keep that chin up! :D

David - you've been given good advice here. I'm sorry to hear you two broke up. On the other hand, spoken as only a mother can, I don't like to see teenagers go steady (probably not the term these days). I say this from experience - I married my HS sweetheart (we dated 11th and 12th grades), at age 20. Thought he was THE one. Thought we'd be happy for the rest of our lives. Didn't quite turn out that way (long story). Short version - we got divorced 8 years later and I was, for the first time, standing on my own two feet. At first it was scary! Very. But within a few months I loved being on my own. Later when I looked back on my HS years, I realized half of my 4 years of memories involved him. I gave up my friends, going out with only my ex, when he got off from work. If you read what friends wrote in my yearbooks, many said - "we never see you anymore Mary, but now you have a boyfriend, I wish I did, etc. Come out with us anytime you have time." Did I make time for my friends - not often.

So in a wordy way, I regret tying myself down in HS and glad my girls haven't (so far). You only have your teens once and then before you know it, you're 21. Make the most of your teen years I say. Forget going steady. But what do I know.....once a mom, you always think a mom! Comes with the territory....LOL

It is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all. I don't remember who said that but it is soooo true. Just look at me. :( lol

David, you will be alright. Steph will be the first in a long list of girlfriends--it may seem like the end of the world, but it isn't really. You could be much worse off, again, just look at poor single ol' me.

Good luck David.

Thank you for the support. Of course, there are alot of little things not known here on the board(Someone at work liked her Tuesday, the break was Friday, they held hands yesterday (Monday)) It went way to fast.

Oh well... life is a you know what sometimes, and I can't control it. It just happened the way it did, and yeah.

I'm thinking now that I've expierenced a relationship, and heartbreak at the same time, I'm thinking single is the path...

David... I am sorry. High school is full of these kinds of heartbreaks. I believe I read somewhere that most people find their spouse in college or later. I know this is a rough spot and I feel for you, but don't despair.

And Lyle, I've got your back. ;)

David, David, David, don't do that. Was Steph your first girlfriend? Even if she was like your fifth or sixth, you should give the relationship idea a BUNCH of chances.

I have had problems similar to yours (with Emily, just look back in the January-April "Mighty Warrior Prayer" thread area), and my dad tells me that before he met and eventually married my mom in the late 70s, he dated 25 girls!

In other words, don't give up. :) You will make a lucky woman out there very happy someday. One thing that I did with my relationship with Emily was rushing it a bit too much. Take it slow, and see what happens. :)

Thank you, Brian. I'm just thinking too much of it, that's all. I know God does things for a reason. I'm just trying to see this reason.

Honestly, I think she'll notice what happened sometime down the road..

David... join the club, I'll share in your sorrows. I certainly understand what your going through. :( Cheer up wx buddy... there are plenty of beautiful ladies waiting for you (just look around and be weary of your surroundings.)

I just recently (on monday) broke up with my boyfriend of a little over a year. Kevin was also my first boyfriend. (yes... I'm 22.. have to worry about other things in my life...I was raised to do your best in life and then worry about men)

As they say, there are many fishes in the sea!!! Or in weather terms, many bolts of lightning in a cloud, if thats too corny sounding let me know...

I'm a teenager too, and I've broke up with two people now, one not being very pretty. Just like everyone else has been saying, sure maybe take some time being single, but always being looking for that love of your life!!
