STILL WAITING FOR LIGHTS!
Hi All.. I am at the college using a computer and thought I'd let you know what's going on.
I'm in my 6th day without lights here and it's getting pretty annoying considering most of the city appears to have it's power back lol
My church looked like it was bombed 3 days ago.. but they did an incredible job cleaning up and it looks a lot better now..
Anyway.. I have some photos I took of Charley's damage.. I'm supposed to pick them up tomorrow.. Maybe if I can find a way.. I'll post them here

Power crews
Over in the Daytona Beach area I've seen power crews from Roanoke VA and Highpoint NC for sure. I'm sure there's lots more too and thank god for them!

I remember when Isabel came through NC last September...one of the command posts for power trucks and crews was a former Wal-Mart parking lot in Roanoke Rapids (used to live in Roa Rpds).
Nice that they could use that lot since the store had closed down as a new SuperCenter was built elsewhere in Roa Rpds.
My brother-in-law helped supervise a crew in restoring power in the Norfolk, VA area after that storm.
Eric

Hi John, We live in Brevard County and got our lights back on Monday evening. My brother lives in south Orlando and they still don't have power they told them Saturday at the latest. My brother in law is the manager at the Golden Corrall on 192 and he said they lost part of thier roof and everything in their freezers I'm not sure if they have power yet, hopefully you will get yours back on soon. Cindy

I saw one of the coolest sites last Friday morning. I was in Opelousas on Highway 190 going towards Baton Rouge and about 25 utility trucks came on from I-49 onto Highway 190 in route to Flordia. I thought it was really cool to see all those trucks and I knew they were headed out to Flordia to help out those in need. The plates read Nebraska on the trucks and it was just after lunch.
I sure hope Louisiana crews went out there, because we had an outpour of help from numerous states. It was a cool site to witness.

Josephine96 - glad to see your OK!!!!!
After Isabel last year it was a nightmare - first time I have spent three days without power but youe emergency crews will have it sorted before too long. If such an event occured over here - it would be weeks. Indeed, after a strong October storm in 2000, some places had no power for 10 days!
I hope you get your power back soon - and the other 23%

LA power crews...
On my way to work in Daytona Beach today, I saw a convoy of trucks from Red Simpson (?) in Alexandria, LA. Your guys are here! Call your local company for me and thank them, would you?
