Why do people do this out of curiosity? Isn't this what SIGNatures are for? To sign off your posts? Not in the posts themselves?

Good question, Joshua. ...It is this sort of question I feel aren't considered worthy of asking on message boards. If I ask "insignificant questions" on other message boards I seem to be some sort of outcast; well I guess you can say I am.
I feel these sort of curiousities at Storm2K are taken more warmly than they are elsewhere... that would lead us into another discussion, that wouldn't be fair in this thread regarding why there is such negativity about this wonderful, growing and all around happy place for tropical weather, general weather and non-weather topics.

Josh - with me, it's just a natural thing. I like to type and so a post feels like a short note to me. I end notes with my name and I began ending posts with my name. Just the way I am I guess.
I did add my sig here - just Mary - but would forget it was added and still sign my name. So at the ends of my posts you'd see:
Mary
Mary
So then I went in and took out the sig. LOL
It does help when a member has a nic that has nothing to do with their first name - example, GalvestonDuck! How would I have ever known her first name was Shawn? Well, I did ask her once....he he
Hope that helps some. And yes, don't worry I'll sign once now. But sometimes I hit the t key and my name becomes Marty, so if I ever do that, please know it's a typo!!!

Proof of one of those responses I was referring to.

We all have different things to discuss and even insigificant ones for most people shouldn't be a problem.

Hey Chad - I just thought of something funny! If you ever see me signing a post like this...as I do on personal snail-mail notes...
Love,
Mary
Will you point it out to me?!!! Then maybe I need to start using that auto sig feature.
But thanks for confirming why I like to just type my name at the end of each post - personal preference!

Maybe... its just a force of habit sometimes, especially if you have to type your name at the bottom of a bunch of documents. I don't, but maybe some people do have real jobs in offices or require a lot of typing that requires putting their names at the bottom of everything they type--letters, memo, etc.

It isn't something that bothers be, however I find this sort of thing (as I mentioned) more an insigificant thing.
There is no reason why this sort of topic shouldn't be asked. We all have different things in mind to post on the off-topic forum.
I find these sort of topics are more tolerable here than they are on other message boards.
