New east atlantic wave=Will it be Frances?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Shhh...

I'm hoping last winter was the rough winter. I'm not ready to face another 2 feet of snow in front of my garage.

whispers to mike....My early analogs suggest there COULD be a major Midwest "event" of sorts this winter--in addition to lots of cold.

How about something like the Cleveland super bomb...pretty please. We haven't had a good storm go up west of the mountains in a few years. By the way, what definition are you using for Midwest here?

Danielle never lost all of its deep convection, I think, like this wave did.

Also the Danielle wave had a clear LLC even before it exited the coast.

Based on the relatively poor QS shot, it may just be a very clear Mid-level circ on this wave at the moment.

The second it redevelops some convection it will probably get an INVEST.

I was mostly referring to the banded nature of the clouds and the size. I don't remember for sure how much deep convection Danielle had, but I think you're right. Haven't seen the QS yet.

There seems to be suggestions in every quarter of potential development of this wave but at the same time, if it does develop it seems likely to curve outward to sea ... just like Danielle.
