Mentioning Stats Forum in the Hurricane Hollow Forum?

#1 Postby ColdFront77 » Tue Aug 24, 2004 4:19 pm

It is only fair to get member's opinions on this. I am pretty sure there are many members that are only paying attention to the Hurricane Hollow
Tropical Weather forum opposed to all the other forums -- so why doesn't it make sense?

Last time I made reference to the stats in the Hurricane Hollow Tropical Weather forum I was told that it was off topic and was moved to this forum.

Why are "Hello/Welcome" posts 'allowed,' along with other non-tropical weather topics, so what is wrong with this idea? :)

Did you actually make reference to stats or to the stats forum?

I don't see why you couldn't direct some people to view other forums. But the actual topic thread (stats, politics, off-topic) should be IN the specific forum.

I know that the actual topic threads should pertain to the proper forum, that makes perfect sense. How about my reference to the "Hello/Welcome" threads in the "Hurricane Hollow Tropical Weather" forum?

I have made reference to the stats in the stats forum, that is why there is no question in my mind that members aren't viewing the stats, so what good have my references there meant?

The majority of members are only viewing the Hurricane Hollow Tropical Weather forum. Of course, they are very important members to this site. They simply aren't viewing other forums; which includes the "Greetings & Stats" forum.

The Stats Forum holds a prominent place on the board as it should. I see no reason to make special announcements. :-)

Marshall, I agree with you; however, how can it truly hold a prominent place on the board without
any more data from members, nevermind the attention being given to it isn't obviously.

People visit the forums that interest them the most. In the height of hurricane season the post totals in the other forums suffer. After all we are first and foremost a weather forum :-)

Of course, members visit the forums that interest them the most. That gives some credibility to the fact that the Greetings & Stats forum isn't too prominent.

Oh well. I can't get my point across, so I guess.. those that will actually like to submit information in order to get more of a grasp of the membership will trickle in.
