Do we REALLY need 20 topics on TS Frances??

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Do we REALLY need 20 topics on TS Frances??

#1 Postby TLHR » Thu Aug 26, 2004 7:23 am

Why is it whenever a storm forms, everyone feels a need to start their own thread?

How many different ways can we cover the fact that Frances is heading WNW at 16 mph???

some people ask questions, but certainly not EVERYONE starts a new thread everytime there's a new storm. Heck, there are over 700 members. Now THAT might be excessive, but 20 topics is not, IMHO.

Sheesh, and I thought this WAS a tropical weather forum..........

In all seriousness TLHR, most of the posts I've read this morning on Frances present different views, ask questions, etc. If you think there's a lot of Frances posts now, just wait until tomorrow or the weekend.

There's a simple rule that might make this easier for you-skip over the posts that don't interest you. You don't need to read or reply to every post on the board. Pick and choose the ones that interest you.

You'll live longer and stay calmer. Trust me. I've been around a long time.

Weel, I was going to start another one, but I'll ask my silly question here instead ...

If FRANCEs were to hit, say, Washington DC as a major storm, would this be karmic punishment for "freedom fries"? ;-)

Agree with ya there. But the Bush thing I must comment on because it misses the real point. The Jews wandered 40 yrs. because they failed to listen to the Bush!!!!

Food for real thought!

Overkill.

There are 3 threads about the cluster of showers off the coast of South Carolina. Wouldn't one suffice?

If you look at the threads on page 2, 75% of them have Frances in the title. I can't believe I'm the only one that finds all these threads excessive.

Do we really need a new thread every NHC update as well?

9am Update on Frances
11am Update on Frances
3pm Update on Frances
5pm Update on Frances
5:39 Update on Frances
7:03 pm: Frances has moved 7 miles since my last post!!!!!!!!!
8:15 pm: It's dark outside. Is Frances still there??????
9:48 pm: I wish My Local Forecast would be over so I could get Jim Cantore's latest word on Frances!!!!!!!!!
Poll: Is Frances a guy's name or a girl's name?????
2:45 am: 3 more hours to the latest bulletin on Frances!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5:00am: It's official. Frances is a B!TCH
Poll: Which weather man will The Weather Channel send to get pummeled by Frances' wind and rain?????????
8:00 am Frances blasts Jamaica. Pot heads outraged, mon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh look! The nurse is here with my tranqs.
Night all!
