I have followed this board closely the past couple of years and find it extremely intriguing, resourceful, helpful, and very LADEN WITH HIGH LEVELS OF TESTOSTERONE...

With that said...the amateur forecasts are in most part amusing especially when the "forecaster" always has it hitting their area (thus the term - -removed-).

I particularly take great joy in reading the posts where the individual has to REMIND us .... AS I SAID LAST NIGHT...or...AS I HAVE BEEN SAYING THE WHOLE TIME...like they are trying to prove they know more or pleading for a pat on the back. More cases than not it was extreme luck.

Most of all I find this board very informative ... thanks to all including those who know less than they think they know and keep me laughing.

Welcome to Storm2K, LowMug.

I've always dislike the term -removed- (as many members know)... but come to think of it, -removed- can also mean not wanting a system to approach your area.

If you are interested in meteorology, you generally want to experience weather, including hurricanes. Of course, I know that hurricanes can and do cause serious problems, but that doesn't take away the excitement I and I assume most of us feel when we are watching these systems approaching land and making landfall.

This excitement is obviously greater than those that aren't really interested in the weather.

I disagree with the part of the amateur forecasts, some of the amateurs on here(myself included in the amateur group.... im only 17) are very informative and usually make for great topics of discussion, amateurs have just as much right as anyone else to make whatever posts they want, regardless if you agree/disagree or dislike it. To say that they are "amusing" for the most part i think is very disrespectful, nowhere on this board does it say that you cannot express yourself if you are not a pro, or you cant attempt a foreast, there is afterall only one great way to learn it, and thats to do it for yourself.

---Sorry for the mini rant but everyone that knows me here, KNEW that i was gonna disagree when everyone else said wonderful post

Most if not all of those "forecasters" on this site do know what they are talking about. However we respect everyone's opinions on S2K and those that are here to learn are just as respected as those that are here to educate and enlighten us. Everyone is Welcome at S2K and there are no stupid questions, the only stupid question is one that is not asked. The atmosphere is all about repect, that being said Welcome to S2K. :D

I agree 100% Rainband. S2K prides itself on respect and people being able to ask questions without the fear of being laughed at or ridiculed.
