Here in Maryland they have been talking about it. They keep saying we have to watch this one real close. Do you honestly think it will come up here? I keep reading it's going to Florida. I hope not for thier sakes. I hope it goes out to sea, or is that called a fishy? LOL I'm trying to learn.

If you remember Hurricanes Fran and Floyd, they caused substantial flooding to the Mid-Atlantic region.

Having learned their lesson from Isabel, it's not too surprising that Frances has Maryland's attention.

Her in Cape Coral, they hardly mention Francis, which I find odd because they were all over Charley from the get go. Do you think they're keeping a tight lip on it so not to cause alarm? I'm with you Rhonda, out to sea is good!

It's ELEVEN DAYS AWAY even if it somehow headed directly for Cape Coral.

That's an ETERNITY in the tropics. Certainly a week longer than anyone could conceivably need to prepare.

11 days

#10 Postby Downdraft » Thu Aug 26, 2004 9:15 pm

Derecho is right Frances is 10 to 11 days from threatening the mainland if and that's a big IF it does at all. This storm could go anywhere from the east coast to Mexico. 11 days in the tropics is the difference between a hit in Boston or a miss in Brownsville. I know that's kind of stretching it but heck watch and wait......
