Just thought that I would mark the anniversary of Andrew striking Louisiana today. He may not have been a Cat. 5 when he arrived here, but he did make his mark and the memory will always be there for many in his path.

I never will forget listening to radio coverage while on vacation in Kentucky. The devastation was unreal!

Heartbreaking for many. He was a Cat. 3. These old Cajuns rolled up their sleeves and helped each other out. Made me proud for sure.

I had just moved to Dallas from the Baton Rouge area a few weeks prior, but was commuting back and forth for a while - ended up on a couple of flights with FEMA people. The stories they told were unbelievable. Not a whole lot of damage in the BR area, but enough to remind folks to never let your guard down during hurricane season.
