Confused

#1 Postby Cookiely » Fri Aug 27, 2004 3:32 pm

A friend of mine told me she was watching a cable station and they said Frances was NOT going to be a threat to Florida and NOT to worry. I was watching the weather channel and they are saying its going to curve parallel to the coast of the US and not be a threat to land. First, I can't believe they are predicting what this hurricane is going to do this far out from making landfall. Did I miss something on the latest predictions or models that would rule out a possible landfall in the Southeast US?

Nope, you didn't miss anything.

Keep watching, keep waiting. Too soon to rule anything out.

I doubt TWC said that. They may have mentioned it as a possibility...but I doubt very seriouslt any of them said it would totally miss land. YOu must have mis-understood. Why? Because they would never dismiss this kind of threat with a WAG this far out.

They tow the TPC party line and unless the TPC says it...they won't say it. They will give possible scenarios...but a bold face "ain't gonna hit anywhere" this far out? Nope.
