Francis is to Floyd...

#1 Postby STORMSURGE » Fri Aug 27, 2004 8:58 pm

what T.D. 7 is to Dennis?

The year was 1999, and hurricane dennis after weakening stalled off of the carolina coast and dumped plenty of rain on the area prior to floyd arriving later and causing MAJOR flooding. So can the same equation be shaping up with a stalled depression off of the coast of tarheelia with the possibility of anotherFloyd like Francis approaching? Just some food for thought

Its coming... the STORMSURGE

The only hurricane I've been through was Isabel. It was actually pretty fun, considering it was a minimal hurricane here. However, I wouldn't ride out a storm if the winds got above 100 mph. Too scary.

my neighbor at the time had about 40 pine trees about 100 feet from her house. she and her young son left to go stay with her mother during the storm. I watched out my back door as nearly all of them crashed onto her storage buildings, and side of the house. You could not even tell they had a driveway, porch or storage buildings due to all of the trees stacked on top. I lost all of my bradford pears, but the loss of power was the real test with a 4 year old daughter. no cartoons! LOLOL But the weird thing was that Fran didnt kill anyone here, so I enjoyed the power of seeing watch nature could do as i stayed up all night to see it. They are so beautiful to see on satellite, yet can be fun at times, but also so destructive and deadly. I guess thats the fascination of it all, these things sometimes seem to live and breathe just as we do.
