And looks even more frightening on the official NHC site tracking map (look for the 5 day track and take a very deep breath if you are a Floridian)!!

Dixie, I can only imagine how stressful the next seven days are going to be for Charley's victims and those of us "in the know" that live in Florida and anywhere in the Southeast!!

I'm just glad that everyone has time to prepare for this monster. It's still a week away from landfall, but everyone in it's path should be ready. I think if it cuts through Flordia, the GOM will be the next to get worried.

That's so true, Scogor. My son is just now slowly getting back to some sort of normalcy in Punta Gorda. This is surreal.

Dixie, how did your son"s home fare during the storm? Where does he live in Punta Gorda? It certainly wasn't a pretty sight last Sunday--hope he has been able to resume something close to a "normal" personal and business life

Yeah, but the front might not even make it through us. If the front stalls out or dies out, it won't have much of an effect on Frances.

I just got back from walmart. I laid in some supplies with a 2 week window in mind. They have everything right now, but that will change quickly as Frances approaches.

Shop early to replenish those supplies. They will go quicker than normal now that Charley has made an impression.

Local mets stated that the front will more than likely make it to the coast. Of course, things could change.

We went to Punta Gorda last weekend and I couldn't believe the devestation! I hope this thing stays far, far, away from them!!!
