Frances will stay a category 4 hurricane or decrease to a category 3 hurricane in 5 days and its main threat is south florida.. :eek:

Dr. Lyons is one of many sources. I would take what he says and play it against everyone else.

He's just basing his prediction on the NHC forecast. They keep this a Cat 4 all the way through 5 days but say it could become a Cat 5 at anytime during that. It could also weaken to a Cat 3 and then re-strengthen, happens a lot with major hurricanes.

Its stupid to be making landfall intensity forecasts,since intensity is the most unpredictable aspect of a hurricane.Remeber Andrew,and more recently,Charley? :roll:

I dont think staying strong is out of the question...if you look at some of the West Pac storms, I have seen those super typhoons last for days and days and never loose steam.
