It's Becoming Apparent.....

#1 Postby TheShrimper » Sun Aug 29, 2004 7:07 pm

That in all likelyhood, Frances will be a Florida event. The path concensus does not deviate directionaly, that being said there should not be any abrupt recurvature on it's approach to Fl. The determining factor as to where she finally ends up, whether it be Dade or Brevard County, is how long a jaunt, how long of a run it makes at the lower lattitudes it is traversing now. There will be a northern component to the track eventually, but at what point does that take place will determine Frans path. This will not be a NC,GA,SC visit. It will not be just a East Coast FL event either. People on the west coast, do not let your guard down. I just went thru Charley here on Pine Island/Matlacha/Bokeelia. This is not a wishcast because running off of generator power and showering with a 12 volt bilge pump for two weeks is not exactly a scenario anyone would want to relive again. Keep a close vigil and be ready. did i fail to mention the clean up after the storm? TheShrimper

I have to agree...a Florida event for sure. However...I'm not convinced yet that it going to be an all Frida show. Folks in GA and the Carolina's can't let their gaurd down either.

Let's not forgot those on the Gulf Coast...If Frances hits the southern tip of Florida...only one place to go and that is in the Gulf unless of course an immediate turn occurs.

My local weather guys are saying it all depends on how fast this ridge builds to the west as to where she'll go...if it doesn't build very quickly....there may be a weakness that will steer her more to the north...if it builds rather quickly to the west....it'll steer Frances to the west and into the Gulf..
I hope that damned ridge builds slower than a snail!!

Don't hate me if I pull for the "Quick!" I have two new skylights (with no glass!!) and a pool/new water feature in my kitchen every time it rains (which lately has been several times a day) thanks to Charley! I am on a waiting list for an estimate (weeks away). Central and West Florida *DON'T* need this right now (does anyone really?)!
