Home Depo to grow in Florida
Since Florida is a hurricane hot spot it will only fuel Big Box stores like "Lowes" "Home Depo" to grow and crush the local businesses, like scottys.... So we continue to pave paradise to put a 20 acre parking lot!

Yep....and save money. Scotty's had a poor business model and thus, has been unable to compete. Don't beat up the big guys for giving what the customer wants.

As much as I pull for "the little guy," I tried to support Scotty's in the early 80s, but they just refused to get with the times. I found myself instead going to that upstart "Home Depot" more and more. Scotty's is to blame for their own demise. They were poorly stocked, didn't carry new products, and quite often were understaffed. Scotty's was *IT* in Florida as far back as I can remember, but HD came from out of nowhere and whipped them into nonexistence.
Now I DO find myself visiting an ACE and TrueValue now and then. As small as they are, they often have things that HD and Lowes don't have. And I also just like the advice I get from the old-timers sometimes.
