What a view this morning
I am about 80 miles due east of the remnants of Gaston as I type this. I just opened the door to throw the cat out (I work nights, time to go to bed!) and the view outside is spectacular. On the east the sun is rising over a mostly clear sky, with a few fast moving wispy bands visible. Due South you can see the grey beginning of Gaston's rainshield, and due West the sky is black with storm clouds. Wind has definitely picked up in the past few hours, but is still less than 15 mph.
