Homeland Security

#1 Postby BreinLa » Mon Mar 31, 2003 11:55 am

I got this emailed to me this morning from a friend not sure if it's true but I thought I would share it with you guys anyway:

This is worth passing along for the sake of homeland security !!!

Keep an eye on UPS ........

Quick security alert: $32,000 worth of UPS uniforms have been purchased
over the last 30 days by person(s) unknown on eBay. Law enforcement is
working the case however no suspect(s) have been identified. Subjects may try to gain facility access by wearing these uniforms.

If anyone has suspicions about a UPS delivery (i.e., no truck, but driver,
no UPS identification, etc.), contact UPS to verify employment.

The New Jersey Office of Counter-Terrorism has received a report of an
attempt by an unknown individual to enter a government facility by falsely
posing as an employee of the United Parcel Service.

Based on this incident, security personnel should exercise heightened
vigilance when screening all delivery personnel at the entrance of all
buildings and when accepting deliveries. Such measures should include
careful inspection of credentials and identification of all delivery
personnel to ensure that they are who they purport to be.

Thanks for the info, Bre
The more we are made aware of such things the better our chances of stopping some sort of terrorist attack.
Heads up everyone!

Sounds like it's time for E-BUSEbay.com to go fold!

Well, the stuff that gets sold on there by folks, etc. I've heard of some pretty strange stuff. And now UPS uniforms, etc. among other items.

It's just what Ebay represents as a site...that's all.

Chad I "love" ebay too like so many others! BUT, when it comes to selling UPS uniforms I draw the line. Poor judgement for ebay officials to allow this to happen if indeed it is true.

Like any other uniforms - there are always those the get discarded or if X company provides them - they will sell them to anyone. I know ever been to flea markets - you can find alot of stuff like that - and who says someone is making them.

I use Ebay and if this story is true - I think they would cancel the auction and handle the situation already.

But it never hurts to be aware and alert. Our UPS and FEDEX are dropped off at the front desk and picked up by the individual's its shipped too.

This is a hoax - confirmed by law enforcement; we heard about it two weeks ago. Not true.
