Meanwhile, The Gulf Coast States Sleep
Hey Arlene and Bret. Don't forget to wake us up next year. For the mean time, tell (Ivan, Jeane, Karl, Lisa, & Matthew) we will keep them in our dreams when some of them visit our friends on the east coast and the rest go

Our time will come...

Unfortunately our (GOM) time will come sooner than you think this season but at the moment we are O.K.
If I had a choice I rather be a viewer rather than a participant. I've been there and done that and believe me it's NOT fun or exciting. Good luck to whoever receives the destruction of Frances.

Is it even within the realm of possibility that Frances threatens the central or western GOM??
This trending of west with every model run kinda makes ya wonder.

Anything is possible but for now it's Florida's problem, I think.

We FL. Panhandlers are not out of any woods yet as far as Frances goes. Several of the models show the ridging extending all the way back into the central GOM and this little lady could pull a Andrew type track and give us a double landfall.

Hurricane Lili gave me enough of a scare thanks. she was a Cat 4 145 mph storm a few hundred miles directly south of my location, which is 30 miles inland of hte Vermillion bay, where thankfullyt she landed in a much weaker state. She did however, pass her eyewall very close to Lafayette and a few tornadoes touched down just South of my house. Luckily I was evacuated in way up in Natchitoches parish at the time. Still, it happened once, it can happen in the future, but Im hoping Frances doesnt visit here.

I can only say that I am still watching it here in Pascagoula...with the trending west, and the fact that the models can't seem to decide anything 5 days out, I think Frances could still take a track over extreme southern FL and hit possibly as far west as Southeastern La...but Texas seems off the hook at this point

No sleeping here, either! Just watching and waiting.
I agree with y'all: I don't like these model runs and forecast tracks that keep taking her further south and west. But, there's nothing to do now but watch and make sure your hurricane kits are in order. IF she enters the Gulf, things will go nuts around here!
